Ben Carsman is a second-year SSP student due to graduate in May 2019. Previously, he majored in Latin American Studies at Loyola University New Orleans and spent time volunteering and studying in Central America and Mexico. Since beginning graduate school, he has interned in the Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control, where he assisted in the administration and enforcement of sanctions programs related to the Western Hemisphere, and at the Department of Homeland Security’s Office of International Engagement. He is currently a Cyber Threat Intelligence Intern at FireEye, Inc., and writes as a columnist for the Georgetown Security Studies Review.
