APPROVED COURSES for SSP Students
SSP Wait list for Georgetown Graduate Students
If you are a degree-seeking graduate student at Georgetown and are restricted from registering in SEST courses, please follow these guidelines. Non-SSP students interested in taking a Security Studies courses for Fall or Spring may submit their request to their own department's academic advisor, dean or director. Your department will collect your name and inform SSP of your course preference. Please note that Core courses are restricted to only SSP Students. Seats will be granted on a space-available basis after all SSP students have registered.
Consortium Students at Georgetown
Please contact your Consortium Coordinator in the registrar's office of your home institution to start the process and paperwork. Seats are granted on a space available basis, after all SSP and Georgetown graduate students have enrolled. In addition, you should consult with your own academic advisor. More information on accessing Georgetown courses through the Consortium can be found here. Please note that consortium students are sometimes not enrolled till the day before class begins, or till the first day of classes.
Departmental permission to enroll is reviewed after your consortium paperwork has been processed by the registrar.
Consortium Courses for SSP students
SSP students may enroll in consortium courses which are not offered at Georgetown University and are pre-approved by the Director of Graduate Studies. Consortium study abroad courses are not allowed for Georgetown graduate students. Grades for approved consortium courses will appear on the Georgetown SSP transcript and will count towards graduation requirements, but the consortium grade will not be included in the cumulative GPA.
