Language Scholarships

The M.A. in Security Studies does not have a language requirement, however, the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences (GSAS) provides Language Scholarships for classes below the 3000 level. This gives SSP students the opportunity to enroll in one approved language course per semester during the Fall and Spring if they so desire.

Per the scholarship agreement, the student must complete the course and earn a passing grade. If a student withdraws from a language course, the scholarship will be revoked and the student will be responsible for any charges remaining after the tuition refund policy has been applied. If the student receives a failing grade (a grade of “F” or “U”), the scholarship will be revoked retroactively and the student will be responsible for the entire tuition charge due for the course. Grades from language courses will not be used in the determination of the student’s Georgetown grade point average.

Some of the language classes offered include:

  • Arabic
  • Chinese
  • French
  • German
  • Korean
  • Russian
  • Spanish
