Matt Zimmerman is a second-year M.A. Candidate in the Security Studies Program, concentrating in US National Security Policy. Prior to moving to Washington, DC, he worked in Austin, TX, on regional homeland security issues. He has professional experience in crisis communications, local government, and technology, and holds an undergraduate degree from Indiana University from the School of Public and Environmental Affairs.

Matt has previously volunteered with local fire departments, as well as search and rescue organizations, and is a Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician. During his first year with SSP, he also served as an Admissions Ambassador.
