Ophir Falk (PhD) is a visiting researcher at the Center for Security Studies, a research fellow at the International Institute of Counter Terrorism (ICT) in Herzliya, and the founder of Acumen Risk Ltd., a firm that specializes in security risk management platforms. Falk’s research has examined terrorism and counterterrorism from various perspectives, including legality and effectiveness of several counterterrorism policies. He has authored numerous peer reviewed articles, editorials in national and international media, and co-authored ‘Suicide Terror: Understanding and Confronting the Threat’ (2009). Falk served as a leading member of a counterterrorism team commissioned by the International Olympic Committee to provide terror risk assessments for the Olympic Games and has carried out security risk assessments on scores of critical infrastructures in Europe, the Middles East and in the Far East. He worked in start-up and early-stage growth companies as a founder or executive from 2007 to 2017. He has a forthcoming book: Does Fair Play Pay Off? Targeted Killing, Law and Counter-Terrorism Effectiveness (2019). Falk holds a B.A. in International Relations (Hebrew University in Jerusalem), a law degree (Manchester University), an MBA (Manchester University) and a Ph.D. in International Relations (Haifa University).
