Sen. Jack Reed

Senator Jack Reed is the Chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee and a senior member of the Appropriations Committee, where he leads the subcommittee that oversees the legislative branch of government. He also serves on the Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee and is an ex-officio member of the Select Committee on Intelligence.
Prior to succeeding Claiborne Pell (D-RI) as Rhode Island’s 46th U.S. Senator, Jack served in the 82nd Airborne Division, taught at West Point, practiced law and served at several levels of government. He holds degrees from West Point (BS, ’71), the John F. Kennedy School of Government (MPP, ’73), and Harvard Law School (JD, ’81).
