Connect

Prospective students are encouraged to connect with SSP to learn more about our program and the application process. SSP offers a number of ways for applicants to engage with our admissions staff, including informational interviews, online chats, and graduate admissions fairs both across the U.S. and abroad.

Register for an upcoming Information Session or Virtual Panel!

On Campus Information Sessions

These sessions will be hosted by an SSP admissions representative and discuss the program and curriculum, class profile, employment outcomes, admissions process, and allow additional time to ask questions. After the Q&A, one of our Admissions & Alumni Fellows will lead the small group on a 30-minute campus tour.

Information Session capacity is capped per session at 12 people, so space is limited.

Next Information Session: TBA

Join the Security Studies’ Admissions Team for an on-campus information session and campus tour, led by one of the Admissions Fellows or Campus Ambassadors.

These information sessions and Q&A, which last approximately 30-45 minutes, are led by an admissions professional and held in the Center for Security Studies in the Car Barn, located at 3520 Prospect Street, N.W., on the second floor.

Directions to campus can be found here and questions can be directed to sspadmissions@georgetown.edu.

Virtual Information Sessions

TBA

Important Note: If you are unable to attend a session – especially for our Military connected, International, or full-time working applicants – the Admissions Team offers dozens of virtual office hour appointments per week. Use this link to book a 20-minute session with an Admissions Director or Fellow (Current SSP Student). These discussions are strictly informative (i.e., non-evaluative for admission) and will provide insight as you map out your SSP application.

Regional and International Recruitment Events

SSP attends numerous off-campus events in the Washington DC area and participates in graduate school fairs domestically and internationally. Check back as we announce more sessions!

In-Person Coffee Chats

Register for a 20-minute, in-person, and informal coffee chat with the Director or Assistant Director of Admissions in the following regions.

Virtual Office Hour Appointments

These 20-minute, virtual 1:1 office hour appointments with the Admissions Team – including our Admissions and Alumni Fellow (and current SSP student) – are a perfect way to introduce yourself and ask any questions about the program or admissions process.

SSP Campus Visit Policy

The SSP Admissions team is able to accommodate on-campus visit requests for admitted students and applicants who live outside of the Greater-DMV region.

If you are planning a trip to Washington, DC, we are happy to schedule a campus visit with you, which typically includes an appointment with an Admissions Director, followed by a student-led tour with an Admissions Fellow or SSP Student Ambassador. If you are interested in an on-campus visit, please email sspadmissions@georgetown.edu to check our availability.

We recommend that you provide at least a two-week notice so we can best accommodate your visit, in addition to checking our academic calendar to avoid any scheduling conflicts. For local students and prospective applicants, we encourage you to sign up for our mailing list and regularly check our [CSS CONNECT] Newsletters for upcoming on-campus information sessions or book a virtual office hour appointment with our Admissions Team.
